Program Overview:
This three-day-a-week program is specially crafted for young adventurers who love to explore, create, and move. With a balance of structured activities and open-ended play, each morning offers a gentle and engaging introduction to the natural world, creative expression, and active movement.
Wednesdays are spent immersed in the outdoors at White Memorial, where children connect with nature through hands-on discovery. Mondays and Fridays take place at Rifugio Litchfield Hills, where participants engage in playful movement, creative activities, and a variety of age-appropriate outdoor experiences.
Program Elements:
🌿 Nature Discovery (Wednesdays at White Memorial)
• Sensory walks through nearby trails and fields
• Introduction to local plants, bugs, birds, and animals
• Nature-themed scavenger hunts and exploration games
• Opportunities to observe textures, sounds, and seasonal changes
🎨 Creative Expression (Mondays & Fridays at Rifugio)
• Crafts and projects using natural materials like leaves, sticks, and stones
• Storytelling and imaginative play
• Music, painting, and other forms of creative exploration
🏃 Movement (Incorporated Daily)
• Balance bike activities and simple obstacle courses (no experience needed)
• Active games like animal walks, relay-style challenges, and group play
• Hiking, hopping, climbing, and natural movement in outdoor spaces
• Focus on developing coordination, balance, and physical confidence
This program is all about exploration at the pace of a 3- to 6-year-old—encouraging discovery, creativity, and growth in a warm, supportive setting.
